An Outdoor Weekend

Date night down town

Keith and I had a very yummy dinner at P.F. Chang's and then watched the incredibly full and powerful Spokane River---those people are not just getting misted on that bridge!!!

Totally normal!

Camp Spalding

We had the privilege of guest hosting a weekend retreat at Camp Spalding. So basically we got a mini vacation as we helped! It was so much fun to be away from the TV and spend some quality time together :)

Here we are on a little hike. Although it was relatively nice out and we were excited to hike around (even with the bum ankle) we were totally freaked out by all the ticks---after this hike we found about 5 ticks trying to take up residence on us! After this we spent the rest of our outside time in more open spaces with less risk of trees and shrubs sharing the ticks with us.
We love Quiddler!

Knitting Club

A.J. Loves Knitting Club!

This is why cats don't need Q-Tips---
Tipsy loves to keep Aslan nice and clean, and he loves it too, he often falls asleep while she cleans.

Praise the Lord for SUNSHINE!!!!

Happy Spring!
(a.k.a. Summer)

Here are some of the pictures I took this weekend as I played outside with my cats, did some yard work, and tried to replenish the lacking vitamin D in my body---thank you sunshine I missed you!

In the 3 years we've lived in this home this is the first time I have actually taken a picture of our apple tree! I'm hoping that later in the summer when we are cursing the rotten apples as we collect them off the ground, we can look at this picture and remember that we do love this tree! (It should also be noted that I almost died from killer bees swarming me as I tried to capture the beautiful tree! Apparently they think it is their tree.)

On this sunny summer-like day, Tipsy cautiously stood by the open door literally ALL MORNING debating if it was really safe to venture out or not. Finally she stepped out to the patio, but every little sound freaked her out and she darted back inside to safety which started the process all over again. I eventually just took her out with me to the nice grassy part of our yard, but she got sooooo nervous---clearly she is our indoor cat.

Aslan, on the other hand, just can't get enough of the great outdoors! This is step one in his outside routine---roll in the dirt so as to blend in with the other outdoor cats. His next step usually includes smelling all the weeds and giving the back yard a thorough inspection. Finally settling down in the dirt under the bushes and keeping watch over his yard. Even though he loves the yard he loves his food even more (hence the giant belly) and always comes in for dinner.

I love it when my tulips and daffodils finally come up---that delayed gratification of planting bulbs in the fall and waiting all winter to see what you'll get come spring is so fun for me! Considering we got a bonus winter and then pretty much skipped spring, this year's flowers were that much more rewarding to finally see!

My basketball star sprained his ankle Friday morning---poor baby! Gotta get him back in the game :) Hoopfest is less than 2 months away!!!! Luckily, no broken bones just some sweet bruising!

Friday Evening---after a long day of hobbling around at school

Saturday afternoon---much more painful today he says, but seems to do okay with the air cast

Sunday Afternoon---looking worse but feeling better (slightly)
